One ID for everything BAPS

What is BAPS ID?

A personalized, globally unique member identification number for all BAPS activities and services.

Why BAPS ID?

What is the use of a Student ID in universities? It helps students access services provided by the university. Similarly, a BAPS ID will help BAPS members access the services provided by BAPS and participate in BAPS events and activities.

Email or phone numbers cannot be suitable as unique identifiers because -

  • Not all children (balaks/balikas or kishores/kishoris) or the elderly (grandparents) have an email address or phone number
  • Email and phone numbers are sometimes shared among family members, so an individual member cannot be uniquely identified by phone or email
  • People sometimes change their email or phone number. They may not remain the same for a lifetime
  • Phone numbers may be recycled and used by different people. They won't necessarily always be associated with the same person

When and where will I use my BAPS ID?

Here are some the possible uses of BAPS ID.

  • To register and check-in for BAPS events, such as Akshardham Mahotsav, National and Regional Conventions, KarCon, Yogi Cup, Special Seminars, etc.
  • To enroll and participate in various BAPS activities such as Gujarati classes, music classes, health fairs, etc.
  • To get special discounts in future when using BAPS services like Aksharpith.
  • To make it easier to retrieve and print donation receipts and annual statements for tax purposes.
  • To access BAPS applications with your BAPS ID and password.

Examples:

  • Scan your BAPS ID QR code and self check-in for a BAPS event.
  • Scan your BAPS ID QR code at a donation kiosk or present your BAPS ID to the Donation Desk to link donation to your account.

Who should have a BAPS ID?

Anyone who wants to use BAPS services, participate in BAPS events and activities, or contribute to BAPS initiatives should get a BAPS ID.
